About UsWhen you become a MEMBER of The Produce Box, you aren't just buying produce from a delivery company. You’re “connected to” and “a part of” a community of families that want to change our local food systems and our local economy for the better. We are moms, dads and even kids (helping put the newsletters in the boxes). And we are especially proud of the fact that we buy ONLY from local farms, and do not ship in from other states or countries. We don't "warehouse" the produce either. The farmers bring it to us, we sort it into boxes for you, and send it out VERY QUICKLY, usually coming in one afternoon and delivered the next morning. Basically, we’re a community of farm families, growing fresh, local and delicious fruits and veggies. We’re a community of women (and a few men) and their families who coordinate getting that produce to you as quickly as possible. And of course, there’s the families we serve: committed to doing what they can to support local growers and producers, knowing that ultimately, the responsibility for preserving our local farms and the environment around us lies with us all. 2011 was our 4th season of bringing fresh local produce to Triangle residents and we are even more committed to:
