Local First, Always
While most grocery store produce travels more than 1,500 miles to reach your plate, your Produce Box order comes from right here in North Carolina. Our network of nearly 100 local farms and food artisans brings you peak-season freshness and the unmistakable flavor that only comes from eating close to home. More than 80% of our selection is sourced locally year-round, though we occasionally look a bit further afield to offer household staples like avocados and bananas.
Sustainable Packaging
Unlike typical online grocers or meal kit services that generate mountains of single-use plastic waste, we’ve created a simple system to keep waste out of landfills. Just leave out your box, quart containers, rubber bands, and ice packs from a previous order on your next delivery day, and we’ll collect and sanitize them for reuse. Our returnable packaging program keeps thousands of pounds of cardboard and plastic out of the landfill each year.
Feeding Food-Insecure Families
As one of our community partners says, "When you're hungry, all you can think about is that you're hungry." Each month, we pack 25,000–50,000 pounds of fresh fruits and veggies into low-cost Produce Boxes for nonprofits serving food-insecure families in the Triangle. Our partners tell us again and again that the fresh produce is the most impactful part of their distributions. We even have a way to donate to these efforts right at checkout. Fair Farmer Pay
Across America, farmers today receive just 14 cents of every dollar spent on food. We do things differently. As a woman-owned, Raleigh-based business, we work directly with our producers so they earn three times the national average. Cutting out the middleman preserves the humanity of our food system: real relationships, weekly interactions, and the simple dignity of knowing the hands that feed our community. Each Produce Box strengthens our local economy and keeps agricultural land in production, securing our local food future.

Love The Produce Box? Share the local love! With our "Give $25, get $25" referral program, you can invite friends and family to enjoy fresh, local food while earning credits for yourself. Copy and share your referral link from the "Friend Referrals" section of your profile, and your friends who sign up will receive $25 off their first order. Once they place an order, you’ll get $25 in store credit. The more you share, the more you earn—there’s no limit.
